Vincent Valentine

Vincent is the second secret character in Final Fantasy VII. He is mysterious and enigmatic, and you are never really sure who he is. We first find Vincent in a coffin in the basement of the Shinra Mansion. He is punishing himself for not being able to stop the girl he loved, Lucrecia, from giving birth to the monster that is known as Sephiroth. He joins Cloud and the gang after he finds that they are going after Sephiroth.

Usually, Vincent comes off as being cool and collected, but there is one place where he shows emotion. Cloud, Vincent, and the group find a passageway behind a waterfall. They go through, and find Lucrecia, the woman he loved. They talk, and she says how much she loved and missed her son, Sephiroth, who Hojo took from her. When she asks how Sephiroth is, Vincent tells her that he is dead. He knew she couldn't stand to find that Hojo had injected her son with JENOVA cells and turned him into a monster bend on destroying the world. There, Vincent makes up his mind to rid the world of Hojo, and stop Sephiroth, for Lucrecia.
